As a supporter of Catholicism and the Counter-Reformation, he commissioned his court musician Lassus to compose numerous liturgical works. Lassus, in turn, had the opportunity, through his travels throughout Europe, to attract the finest singers and musicians to Albrecht&#8217;s court and to promote his works beyond Munich.
