Nevertheless, the Christmas CD of the Ensemble La Protezione della Musica offers a brief overview of his surviving music. <!--more-->The Cantata for Epiphany \u201cThe people who walk in darkness\u201d and two Cantatas for Christmas Day, <em>\u201c<\/em>The Lord has made known his salvation\u201d and \u201cToday a Saviour is born to you\u201d are combinend with instrumental works. Among those, there is an Aria ex C for keyboard, the only evidence of music for keyboard instruments by K\u00e4fer, which has been preserved in the private manuscripts of the lawyer Georg Michael Oster. Due to the mostly improvisatory practice of organists, no further organ music has survived.
