New chamber works for bassoon and piano – aren’t there enough productions of this genre? Not at all! The bassoon is a magnificent instrument which, we believe, deserves to be in focus, much more than it has been so far \u2013 at the front of the stage, and not \u2013 as is so often the case \u2013 at the back of the orchestra pit! It can create such a variety of colours, reaching from enjoyable charm to pure melancholy – especially when a real master like Berthold Gro\u00dfe (Stockholm) is touching the instrument. Oliver Drechsel (K\u00f6ln = Cologne) is Berthold’s piano partner in this recording, and he has also composed some of the recorded repertoire. Also featured: Andreas Herkenrath (Cologne) and Johan Ull\u00e9n, one of the most popular Swedish composers of the younger generation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
