arc 24054 – And every little star – Clara Guldberg Ravn, Bremer Barockorchester

Naples and Venice were two of the main centers for music in Italy during the 17th and 18th centuries. On this new recording of baroque flute concertos from Italy, the Bremer Barockorchester and Clara Guldberg Ravn once again demonstrate their great joy of playing and the highest quality of baroque performance practice. In addition to well-known works by Antonio Vivaldi and the recorder hit by Guiseppe Sammartini, the young Danish recorder player has dared to tackle lesser-known works by the Neapolitan Nicola Fiorenza and the Swede Johan Helmich Roman. Roman’s concerto – he was a violinist in Handel’s orchestra in London – is also written in the Italian style. He was inspired by a stay in Naples, which greatly influenced him.
