Liebig, Andreas

Andreas Liebig has been the cathedral organist in Basel since 2014. After teaching in Lübeck and Oslo, he led the organ class at the Tyrolean State Conservatory in Innsbruck from 2013-2015. Since 2018 at the Freiburg Musikhochschule. He studied church music in Herford, 1983-1989, majoring in organ, piano and music theory in Stuttgart with L. Lohmann and H. Lachenmann, amongst others. Further training in Cologne, Paris, Vienna, Lübeck and Freiburg with M. Schneider, D. Roth, H. and M. Haselböck and Z. Szathmáry as well as with S. Celibidache in Mainz. In 1988 he won first prizes at organ competitions in Dublin and Odense. Busy concert schedule, CD, radio and TV recordings. Masterclasses in Europe, North and South America and Asia. Jury member at international competitions.
