Gudrun Sidonie Otto is one of the most versatile sopranos of her generation and delights audiences with her “bright, feminine, noble timbre” (FonoForum) and “her fresh yet warm soprano” (Opernglas) at major opera houses and festivals around the world, including the Komische Oper Berlin, the Staatsoper Hannover, the Staatstheater Nürnberg, the Theater Würzburg, the Théâtre de Picardie, the Grand Opera Luxembourg and the Opéra National du Rhin Strasbourg under conductors such as N. Marriner, R. Gritton, H. Rilling, T. Guschlbauer, T. Hengelbrock, E. zu Guttenberg, P. Gülke, L. Güttler and K. Stok. 1st prize chamber opera competition Schloss Rheinsberg (2007). She studied theology at the University of Basel and also works as a pastor in Binningen-Bottmingen near Basel, combining worship and culture.
